Removal and Replacement

On Continental, Sable & Taurus models, the ECA is located behind the glove compartment, under the instrument panel.

On Crown Victoria, Town Car, Mark VII & Grand Marquis models, the ECA is located on the lefthand hinge pillar.

On Cougar and Thunderbird models, the ECA is located behind the righthand kick panel.

1. Disconnect electrical connector from ECA.
2. On all models except Cougar and Thunderbird, remove clip attaching ECA to dash panel.
3. On Cougar and Thunderbird models, remove ECA lower leg-to-cowl side sheet metal attaching screw.
4. On all models, remove ECA.
5. Reverse procedure to install.
