Disassembly and Assembly

DISASSEMBLE
1. Remove separator plate attaching screws, separator plate, and gasket.
2. Remove check balls and relief valve.

Location And Identification Of Valves:

3. Refer to the Location And Identification Of Valves image for position of components in each of the valve assemblies within the valve body.

NOTE: Do not turn throttle valve adjusting screw. No adjustment is possible; adjustment is set during manufacturing.

ASSEMBLE

Check Ball Locations:

1. Install check balls and relief valve as shown in the Check Ball Locations image.

NOTE: Only Tempo & Topaz models equipped with 2.3L engines use the lower check ball denoted "Check Ball Location Dependent Or Model Usage".

2. Install alignment pins, separator plate gasket, separator plate, and attaching bolts. Tighten attaching bolts and remove alignment pins.
