Electronic Brake Control Module: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect positive battery cable.
2. Locate ECU on carbon canister bracket attached to left fender. Disconnect 40-pin electrical connector.
3. Remove screw retaining ECU to mounting bracket.
4. Carefully slide ECU along bracket to free rivet, then remove ECU from vehicle.
5. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque retaining screw to 5.2---6.2 ft. lbs.
b. Drive vehicle 10 or more miles to relearn PCM strategy.
