SHIFT INTERLOCK SYSTEM INSPECTION

NOTE: No adjustment is available on the brake shift actuator. To verify proper operation, proceed as follows:

1. Place gear selector in Park and turn ignition switch to the RUN position.
2. Do not apply brake pedal and verify gear selector cannot be shifted from Park.
3. Apply brake pedal and verify gear selector can be shifted from Park.
4. Shift to Reverse and verify ignition switch cannot be turned to LOCK position.
5. If brake shift interlock system does not operate as indicated, replace actuator.
