SERVICE PROCEDURE

MERCURY:
1991-1996 TRACER

ISSUE
The door latches (right and left) contain a switch which is an input to the passive restraint system. Previous to this article, the entire latch needed to be replaced to service a suspect switch. This article provides a new switch part number and procedure to install the switch.

ACTION
Install a new front door latch switch. Refer to the following Service Procedure for details.
