Load Test

NOTE: Do Not ground ``B'' terminal wire or possible electrical damage will result.

1. Connect Rotunda Starting/Charging Tester tool No. 078-00005 or equivalent as follows:
a. Carefully disconnect ``B'' terminal wire from alternator.
b. Connect positive lead of tester to ``B'' wire.
c. Connect negative lead of tester to ``B'' terminal.
2. turn on as many electrical accessories as possible, to force the alternator the charge at its maximum voltage.
3. Start engine, then raise engine speed to 2,500 to 3,000 rpm.
4. Record the maximum alternator output. If the amperage output is within ten percent of its rated output, the alternator is functioning correctly.
