Installation












1. Position power steering lines in vehicle and connect lines at power steering pump, oil cooler and steering gear. Tighten fittings to 34-47 N-m (25-34 lb-ft). Install constant tension hose clamps.

NOTE:

For easier installation of pressure line fitting to retainer bolt, remove the valve retainer bolt from gear.

Finger tighten pressure fitting to bolt, then insert bolt back into valve. Be certain that the square O-ring seal is not damaged and is properly seated in the valve assembly. Replace 0-ring if necessary. Tighten the bolt and then the tube nut.

2. Install ground wire on back of engine block.

3. Install EVR valve wire.

4. Install plastic straps attaching heat shield to return hose and power steering lines to transfer tube on gear.

5. Install anti-rattle clips.

NOTE:

For variable assist power steering gears, perform Steps 6 and 7.

6. Install screw at pressure and return line bracket.

7. Install power steering pressure switch and connect electrical connector to switch.

8. Install engine coil.

9. Install remote air cleaner.

10. Install top RH isolated radiator mount bracket.

11. Install radiator fan shroud.

12. Install No.6 spark plug wire.

13. Install module bracket.

14. Install sight shield.

15. Connect battery ground cable.

16. Fill system as outlined.
