EGR Valve: Service and Repair

Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System:

REMOVAL

1. Remove air cleaner outlet tube.
2. Disconnect EGR valve emission vacuum control hose and EGR pressure valve sensor hose from EGR valve.
3. Disconnect EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube from EGR valve.
4. Remove EGR valve retaining bolts and EGR valve from upper intake manifold.
5. Remove EGR valve gasket and clean residue from upper intake manifold sealing surface.




INSTALLATION


1. Install new EGR valve gasket on the upper intake manifold sealing surface.
2. Install the EGR valve onto the upper intake manifold and replace the valve retaining bolts.
3. Connect EGR valve to exhaust manifold tube to EGR valve.
4. Connect EGR valve emission vacuum control hose and EGR pressure valve sensor hose to EGR valve.
5. Replace air cleaner outlet tube.
