Lower Shaft Bearing

Column Removed

Removal

1. Remove lower steering shaft bearing and housing assembly.

2. Suitably support housing and tap out bearing with a hammer and a drift.

Installation

1. Inspect flexible bearing sleeve.

2. Position bearing sleeve in housing.

3. Press in the new bearing with thumb pressure until seated. Slot between inner and outer races should face down when installed in the vehicle.

4. Install bearing housing on steering column.
