Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Discharge refrigerant from A/C system.
3. Working from inside engine compartment, disconnect low and high pressure lines from evaporator outlet fitting.
4. Remove two glove box retaining screws, then glove box assembly.
5. Disconnect two electrical connectors from thermostat.
6. Disconnect cable from thermostat.
7. Disengage wire harness retaining clamps from top of evaporator housing.
8. Loosen clamp screw securing connector duct to evaporator housing.
9. Disconnect drain hose from evaporator housing on lower evaporator case.
10. Remove evaporator housing.
11. Remove the six clips securing the upper evaporator housing to lower housing.

Evaporator Assembly:





12. Remove upper evaporator housing.
13. Remove evaporator core from lower case.
14. Reverse procedure to install. Install new O-ring seals.
