Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation
Intake Air Temperature Sensor:
DESCRIPTION The Intake Air Temperature
(IAT) sensor detects intake air temperature variances for input to the Powertrain Control Module
(PCM). This input calculates for fuel injection quantity and ignition timing.
OPERATION Sensor resistance and the voltage signal to the PCM vary with intake air temperature.
