Shift Interlock Cable: Service and Repair

1. Remove shift console panel.

2. Loosen locknut "A", then disconnect interlock cable from bracket on shift lever. Do not loosen locknut "B." It is factory preset for proper shift interlock operation.
3. Attach suitable mechanic's wire to cable to aid installation, then remove two hold-down bracket screws attaching interlock cable to bulkhead.
4. Remove lower steering column shroud attaching screws, then separate upper and lower steering column shrouds.
5. Remove interlock cable to lock cylinder bolt at lock cylinder housing, then remove cable.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
