Intake Manifold: Service and Repair

1. Relieve fuel system pressure.
2. Disconnect battery ground cable.
3. Disconnect necessary vacuum hoses from intake manifold and plenum.
4. Remove vacuum chamber canister from intake plenum.
5. Disconnect idle speed control and bypass air hoses from intake plenum.
6. Disconnect accelerator and kickdown cables from throttle cam, then remove bracket from intake plenum.
7. Disconnect throttle body electrical connector, then remove fuel rail assembly from manifold.
8. Remove two bolts from transaxle vent tube and remove vent tube from intake plenum.
9. Remove intake manifold upper retaining nuts, then raise and support vehicle.
10. Remove intake plenum support bracket, then the intake manifold lower retaining nuts.
11. Lower vehicle and remove intake manifold, intake plenum and throttle body as an assembly.

12. Reverse procedure to install. Install intake manifold retaining nuts in order shown and torque to 14-19 ft lb.
