Expansion Block/Orifice Tube: Service and Repair

Removal
1. Discharge the A/C system system into an approved recovery device.





2. Disconnect the spring lock coupling next to the A/C evaporator core orifice. Use an appropriate spring lock coupling tool. Discard the 0-rings.
3. Remove as many refrigerant line attaching nuts and bolts as necessary to permit access to the open end of the refrigerant line.
4. Use Fixed Orifice Tube Remover/Replacer T83L-19990-A to remove the A/C evaporator core orifice from the refrigerant line.

Installation

NOTE:The replacement A/C evaporator core orifice is green (0.052 inch).

1. Install the A/C evaporator core orifice using the Fixed Orifice Tube Remover/Replacer T83L-19990-H.
2. Install the refrigerant line attaching nuts and bolts.
3. Use new 0-rings lubricated with clean refrigerant oil and connect the spring lock coupling.
4. Leak test, evacuate, and charge the A/C system.
