Fig. 9 Timing Chain Alignment:

1. Rotate crankshaft as necessary to position piston No.1 at TDC and keyway at the 12 o'clock position.

2. Lubricate timing chain with engine oil. Install camshaft sprocket, crankshaft sprocket and timing chain. Ensure timing marks line up across from each other.

3. Install distributor drive gear.

4. Install bolt and washer assembly at end of camshaft. Tighten to 40-50 Nm (30-37 lb-ft).
