Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from Mass Airflow (MAF) sensor and Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor.

3. Loosen engine air cleaner tube clamps on air cleaner outlet tube and air cleaner cover. Disconnect air cleaner outlet tube from MAF sensor.

4. Remove MAF sensor from engine air tray and remove from vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Install MAF sensor on air tray.

2. Connect air cleaner outlet tube to MAF sensor. Align tab on mass airflow sensor with slot on engine air tray. Tighten engine air cleaner tube clamps to 2.3-3.2 Nm (20-28 in lb).

3. Connect engine control sensor wiring to MAF and IAT sensors.

4. Connect batttery ground cable.
