FD5 - Check For Power to Brake Switch



NOTE: Using a 12v test lamp, verify the integrity of related fuses In the fuse panel and check the condition of the stoplamp bulbs before starting this test.

- Key Off.

- Disconnect brake switch.

- Measure B+ input voltage between switch and chassis ground.

- Is voltage greater than 10 volts?

YES -- VERIFY integrity of brake switch. If OK, SERVICE open circuit between brake switch and stoplamp ground. RECONNECT brake switch. Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes

NO -- SERVICE open B+ circuit to brake switch. RECONNECT switch. Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
