Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring connector from ignition coil and radio ignition interference capacitor.
3. Disconnect spark plug wires from ignition coils.

NOTE: When removing wires from ignition coil, squeeze the locking tabs of coil wire retainer by hand. Twist and pull on boot until free.

4. Remove retaining screws and coil assembly.

INSTALLATION
1. Install coil assembly and retaining screws.
2. Tighten to 40-61 lb. in. (4.5-7.0 Nm).
3. Connect ignition wires.
4. Connect engine control sensor wiring connector to coil and radio ignition interference capacitor.
5. Connect battery ground cable.
