Alternator: Service and Repair
1.
Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Disconnect wire harness attachments to
alternator and voltage regulator assembly.
3.
Remove accessory drive belt from
alternator pulley
4.
Remove mounting bolts and
alternator.
5.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque upper mounting bolt to
16-21 ft lb, lower mounting bolt to
30-40 ft lb, and terminal nut to
6.6-8.8 ft lb.
