Ignition Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable and isolate cable end with electrical tape.
2. On models equipped with tilt column, remove upper extension shroud.
3. Remove steering column trim shroud.

Ignition switch removal:

4. Remove electrical connector from switch.
5. Rotate ignition key to RUN position.
6. Remove two ignition switch to lock cylinder housing screws.
7. Disengage switch from actuator pin.

INSTALLATION
1. Adjust switch by sliding carrier to switch RUN position.
2. Ensure ignition key lock cylinder is in RUN position by rotating key lock cylinder approximately 90° from LOCK position.
3. Install switch onto actuator pin.
4. Torque screws to 50-70 in lb.
5. Connect electrical connector to switch.
6. Install steering column trim shroud(s).
7. Connect battery ground cable.
8. Check for proper operation.
