EGR Valve Position Sensor: Description and Operation
EGR Valve:
PURPOSE EGR Valve Position
(EVP) sensor provides EGR valve position signal to Powertrain Control Module
(PCM).
OPERATION EVP signal is interpreted by PCM as quantity of exhaust gas being recirculated. EVP input is also used by PCM to detect EGR system malfunctions, such as EGR valve sticking and problems with the sensor itself.
