Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the high-tension lead from the ignition coil by first twisting, then pulling if from the ignition coil terminal.
3. Pull the ignition coil connector cover off the connector.
4. Disconnect the ignition coil connector from the ignition coil.
5. Remove the ignition coil attaching nut.
6. Remove ignition coil.



INSTALLATION


1. Install ignition coil.
2. Install the ignition coil attaching nut and torque to 71-88 in. lb. (8-10 N-m).
3. Connect the ignition coil connector from the ignition coil.
4. Install ignition coil connector.
5. Install high-tension lead.
6. Connect battery ground cable.
