Console Panel

Removal
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.





2. If equipped, open the console armrest and remove the two screws that attach the console armrest base to the console armrest compartment.
3. Remove the console armrest base.





4. Remove the two screws that attach the console armrest compartment to the console panel ash receptacle bracket.
5. Remove the console armrest compartment.
6. If equipped, unsnap the coin tray from the console finish panel.





7. Remove the two console panel nuts on the console panel ash receptacle bracket.
8. If equipped with a manual transaxle, unscrew the shift control selector lever knob.





9. If equipped with an automatic transaxle, remove the console top panel.
10. Engage the parking brake.
11. Gently pull up on the console finish panel to separate it from the console panel.





12. Remove the instrument panel ash receptacle illumination miniature bulb and socket from the console finish panel.





13. Disconnect the two cigar lighter knob and element electrical connectors.
14. Remove the screw and push pin from each of the console front finish panels.





15. Remove the six screws from the console panel.
16. Remove the console panel from the vehicle.

Installation
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
