KE33 - Check Idle Speed



- Key "OFF".

- Install a tachometer.

- Check engine rpm while engine is at operating temperature and at idle.

- Is idle rpm within range?

Yes -- Clear Keep Alive Memory. Clearing Keep Alive Memory (KAM) and Relearn Procedure

Check idle speed and adjust if applicable. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)

No -- Clear Keep Alive Memory. Clearing Keep Alive Memory (KAM) and Relearn Procedure

Reset idle speed to specification. Refer to Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Adjustments for idle airflow adjustment procedure. If unable to reset idle or system is nonadjustable, replace Idle Air Control (IAC) solenoid or throttle body assembly as necessary. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
