SUBJECT: Shift errors, possible MLPS codes

APPLICATION: Ford, Mazda

AODE, 4R70W, AXODE, AX4N, E4OD, CD4E

DELAYED ENGAGEMENT, SHIFT ERRORS, POSSIBLE MLPS CODES

Some models with AODE, 4R70W, AXODE, AX4N, E4OD or CD4E may have wrong gear starts, no shifts, harsh shifts or possible codes 67, 522 and 634. These problems may be caused by incorrectly installed replacement connectors, wiring, or a mismatched harness to manual lever position sensor (MLPS) connector.













Use the figures and charts to correctly identify and service wire colors and circuits on the MLPS.
