FF9 - Check PSPS State With Engine Running and Load vs. No Load
- Engine idling.
- Breakout box installed, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connected.
- Power Steering Pressure (PSP) switch connected.
- Measure the resistance between test pin 28 and test pin 46 at the breakout box.
- Turn the steering wheel at least one-half, turn then return.
- Does resistance change from less than 10 ohms to infinity (indicating PSP switch opening), then return to 10 ohms or less when steering wheel is returned to center position?
Yes -- PSP system OK. Testing completed. Remove breakout box.
No -- Replace PSP switch. Remove breakout box. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
