HU13 - Check IAC Solenoid For Proper Function

- Transmission still in Park.

- A/C, heater and all accessories Off.

- Engine at normal operating temperature and cooling fan Off, but not unplugged.

WARNING: DO NOT UNPLUG COOLING FAN. IT MAY CAUSE ENGINE OVERHEATING.

- Key On, Engine Running.

- Disconnect AC solenoid vehicle harness connector.

- Does the RPM drop or engine stall?

YES -- For Fast Idle Symptom: GO to HU14. HU14 - Check IAC Circuit For Short to Ground

For All Other Symptoms: Throttle body is defective, REPLACE the entire throttle body assembly. CLEAR Keep Alive Memory.

NOTE: Do not attempt to clean throttle bore or throttle plate area. Do not adjust air flow.

NO -- IAC solenoid is defective, REPLACE IAC solenoid only. CLEAR Keep Alive Memory.

NOTE: Do not attempt to clean the IAC solenoid.
