TD1 - Check MLP Sensor Alignment

Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) 0707 MLP sensor shorted to ground. DTC 0708 MLP circuit high, open circuit. DTC 1705 MLP not in Park during Key On Engine Off (KOEO) Self-Test.

Possible Causes:
- Misadjusted linkage.
- Misaligned MLP sensor.
- SIG RTN circuit open or shorted to GND.
- MLP signal circuit open or shorted to VPWR or GND.
- PCM damaged.

- Key Off.

- Apply parking brake.

- Place MLP lever in Neutral.

- Verify MLP Sensor Tool (Rotunda T92P-7010-AH) or equivalent fits in the appropriate slot.

- Does the tool fit properly?

YES -- REMOVE tool. GO to TD2. TD2 - Check MLP Sensor Response

NO -- LOOSEN the two MLP sensor mounting screws. MOVE the sensor about to allow insertion of the MLP sensor tool in the appropriate slots. TIGHTEN the screws to specification. VERIFY shift linkage adjustment. Rerun quick test. Diagnostic Subroutines (DSR) - Extracting Codes
