X181 - Check Fuel Pump (FP) Circuit For Short to Ground

- Key Off.

- PCM disconnected.

- Disconnect Scan Tool from DLC.

- Disconnect CCRM.

- Inspect PCM and CCRM connectors for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, leave PCM disconnected.

- Measure resistance between Test Pin 80 (FP) and Test Pins 51,103 (PWR GND) and 91 (SIG RTN).

- Are resistances greater than 10,000 ohms?

YES -- REPLACE CCRM. REMOVE breakout box. RECONNECT all components. RE-EVALUATE symptom.

NO -- SERVICE FP circuit short to ground. REMOVE breakout box. RECONNECT all components. RE-EVALUATE symptom.
