Communication Error Description

PURPOSE
When initiating a test or viewing Parameter Identifications (PID's), it is possible to receive a communication error. The error may be caused from operator error, vehicle wiring or connectors, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or other control modules connected to the Data Link Connector (DLC).

Listed are the numerous codes and generic descriptions a scan tool may display when trying to perform some PCM operations:
