Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch electrical connector.

2. Raise and support the vehicle.

3. Use an open-end wrench to remove the PNP switch from the flywheel housing.

INSTALLATION

1. Apply Ford Gasket Eliminator E1FZ-19562-A or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSK-M2G348-A4 to the threads of the PNP switch.

2. Install the PNP switch on the flywheel housing. Tighten the PNP switch to 20-29 Nm (15-21 lb ft).

3. Lower the vehicle.

4. Connect the PNP switch electrical connector.
