DT4 - Check PSP Sensor Operation

- Key "OFF".

- Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Inspect for damaged or pushed out pins, corrosion, loose wires, etc. Service as necessary.

- Install breakout box, connect PCM to breakout box.

- Key "ON", engine at idle.

- Measure the voltage between the Power Steering Pressure (PSP) sensor signal test pin and SIG RTN test pin at the breakout box.

- While turning the steering wheel end-to-end, observe voltage change.

- Is voltage reading changing between 0.5 and 4.5 volts?

Yes -- Go to Diagnosis by Symptom (Diagnostic Routines).

No -- Replace PSP sensor. Remove breakout box. Reconnect all components. Rerun Quick Test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
