Column Shift Control Cable

WITH 4R70-W, (AODE-W)

ADJUST
1. Place steering column selector lever in Overdrive and hold selector lever in position by placing a 3 lb weight on lever to ensure lever is located firmly on the Overdrive detent.
2. Raise and support vehicle.

Column Shift Cable Adjustment:

3. Remove shift cable from lever ball stud.
4. Pull down lock tab on shift cable body.
5. Position gear shift. selector lever in Overdrive by moving the lever 3 detents rearward from the front-most position, with front-most lever position counted as one.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Cable adjustment must be made with gear shift selector in Overdrive.
b. Check gearshift lever in all detent positions with engine running, adjust as necessary.
