Accumulator HVAC: Service and Repair

Suction Accumulator/Drier

SPECIAL SERVICE TOOL(S) REOUIRED









Removal and Installation


1. Discharge refrigerant from A/C system following recommended service procedures. Observe all safety precautions.

2. Disconnect electrical contact from the A/C cycling switch.

3. Disconnect the evaporator to accumulator outlet tube. Use a backup wrench.

4. Disconnect spring lock coupling from the evaporator to compressor suction line.

5. Remove screw from the accumulator bracket and remove suction accumulator/drier.

6. For installation, follow removal procedures in reverse order. Refer to Adding Refrigerant Oil.















7. Evacuate, leak test and recharge system.
