Climate Control Assembly














Removal


1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Snap control opening finish panel away from instrument panel.

3. Remove four screws attaching heater control assembly to instrument panel.

4. Pull manual heater control from instrument panel and disconnect wire connectors from the heater control.

5. Disconnect A/C plenum vacuum harness.

6. Disconnect heater temperature cable from heater control.

7. The knobs can be removed by pulling off the shafts.

8. Remove heater control.

Installation

1. Push control knobs on appropriate shafts, if they were removed.

2. Connect heater temperature cable to heater control assembly.

3. CAUTION: Screw on vacuum hose harness retaining nuts. Be careful not to strip the posts.

Connect wire connector(s) and vacuum hose harness to heater control assembly.

4. Position heater control in instrument panel opening and install four retaining screws.

5. Install control opening finish panel by snapping it into place.

6. NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module (PCM) relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 16km (10 miles) or more to relearn the strategy.

Connect battery ground cable.

7. Check system for proper operation.
