Automatic Transmission

REMOVAL
^ Raise vehicle.
^ Remove two nuts retaining the muffler inlet flange to the muffler inlet pipe flange.
^ Disengage muffler flange from muffler inlet pipe flange studs.
^ Remove three bolts retaining LH exhaust shield.
^ Remove four nuts retaining dual converter Y pipe flanges to the exhaust manifolds.
^ Slide dual converter Y pipe rearward to dual converter Y pipe from exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket. Remove dual converter Y pipe.
^ Replace any damaged parts.

INSTALLATION
^ Engage dual converter Y pipe to exhaust outlet pipe frame bracket. Slide dual converter Y pipe forward.
^ Position dual converter Y pipe flanges to exhaust manifolds and install new retaining nuts. Do not tighten nuts at this time.
^ Align dual converter Y pipe. Tighten all exhaust manifold nuts to 23.3-31.7 Nm (17-23 ft lb).
^ Position LH exhaust shield to dual converter Y pipe and tighten retaining bolts to 7.6-10.4 Nm (67-92 in lb) and 4.5-6.3 Nm (40-56 in lb).
^ With muffler supported by exhaust outlet pipe frame brackets, install muffler inlet flange over muffler inlet pipe flange studs. Install, but do not tighten, retaining nuts.
^ Align muffler to conform. Tighten flange nuts to 29.7-40.3 Nm (22-30 ft lb).
