Overdrive Servo

DISASSEMBLY

Overdrive Servo:






1. Remove overdrive servo piston return spring.
2. Remove overdrive servo piston from servo cover.

Servo Band Piston:






3. Place overdrive servo piston in soft jawed vise, pry off rear piston rod retaining clip and remove washer.
4. Remove overdrive servo piston.

NOTE: Piston and seal are an assembly. If seal is damaged, replace the piston assembly.

5. Remove overdrive servo retainer and spring.
6. Remove front piston rod retaining clip, if necessary.
7. Remove servo cover seal.


ASSEMBLY
1. Install front piston rod retaining clip on overdrive servo rod.
2. Install overdrive servo retainer and spring, piston and washer.
3. Compress assembly and install rear piston rod retaining clip.
4. Lubricate piston seal with petroleum jelly.
5. Install assembled servo components into servo cover.
6. Install servo cover seal.
