Connecting Rod: Service and Repair

Piston & Rod Assembly:

1. Assemble the rod to the piston with the notch on the piston dome on the same side as the button on the connecting rod, When installing the piston and connecting rod assembly in the engine, the notch on the piston dome must face front.
2. After installing the piston and connecting rod assembly, check the connecting rod side clearance. The connecting rod side clearance should be 0.006 to 0.014 in.
