Air Flow Control Box - Heater
Heater Plenum Chamber CaseRemoval and Installation
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove the air cleaner or the air inlet duct, as required.
3. In the engine compartment, remove the electrical connector from the blower motor by pushing on the connector tab and pulling the connector ofl the blower motor. Remove connector from the heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
4. In the passenger compartment, remove the instrument panel.
5. Remove heater air plenum chamber.
6. Remove the two nuts retaining the heater plenum chamber case to the dash panel. Pull the heater plenum chamber case away from the dash panel to remove.
For installation, follow removal steps in reverse order. Take care to align the five mounting studs to dash panel holes when positioning heater plenum chamber case. Check system for proper operation.
Airflow Doors
The various airflow control doors are non-serviceable parts of the heater air plenum chamber and are serviced as a complete unit.
