Evaporator Core: Service and Repair

NOTE: When replacing an A/C evaporator core, replace suction accumulator/drier. Before replacing an evaporator core, leak test core in vehicle to verify it is leaking.

1. Remove evaporator case from vehicle.
2. Remove vacuum line from vacuum control motor.
3. Remove metal clips and disengage lugs retaining A/C recirculating air duct to A/C evaporator housing.
4. Remove recirculating duct, then heater dash panel seal and evaporator nut.

5. Remove rear A/C evaporator housing screws, then separate evaporator housing and remove evaporator core.
6. Reverse procedure to install.
