Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove throttle body snow shield.
2. Remove Throttle Position (TP) sensor cover.
3. Disconnect electrical connector from TP sensor.
4. Remove two TP sensor screws and sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Install TP sensor. Make sure that red seal is inside the electrical connector housing.

CAUTION: Slide rotary tangs into position over throttle shaft blade, then rotate TP sensor CLOCKWISE to installed position only. Failure to install the TP sensor in this manner may result in excessive idle speeds.

2. Install TP sensor and screws. Tighten to 3-4 Nm (27-35 lb in)

NOTE: The TP sensor is not adjustable.

3. Connect electrical connector to TP sensor.
4. Install TP sensor cover.
5. Install throttle body snow shield.
