D: Transmission Range (TR)/Manual Lever Position (MLP) Sensor

Pinpoint Test D - Transmission Range (TR) Sensor

DTC List: P0707 TR sensor or circuit shorted
P0708 TR sensor or circuit open
P1705 TR sensor not indicating park during KOEO

NOTE: This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the transmission range (TR) sensor electrical system only. To prevent replacement of good components, be aware that the following areas may be at fault:

Engine - Starter, starter relay
Electrical - Battery, ignition switch, wiring harnesses
Transmission - Internal transmission components, linkages

This pinpoint test is intended to diagnose the following components:

- Transmission wiring harness, TR sensor, signal return (SIG RTN)
- Powertrain control module
- Starter circuits, backup circuit
