Alternator: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect intake air temperature sensor electrical connector.
3. Loosen air cleaner outlet tube clamps and remove air cleaner outlet tube.
4. Remove cooling fan blade and fan shroud.
5. Disconnect wiring at voltage regulator.
6. Remove alternator output terminal nut and wiring terminal from alternator output terminal.
7. Remove drive belt from alternator pulley.
8. Remove A/C manifold and tube bracket nut, position A/C manifold and tube aside.
9. Remove alternator to bracket bolts, then the alternator.
10. Reverse procedure to install. torque alternator mounting bolts to 30-40 ft lb.
