Output Shaft: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Exploded View Of Output Shaft And Direct Clutch:






1. Remove ring retaining output shaft hub to ring gear.

NOTE: Governor sleeve and block pin need only be removed when major component failure requires transmission cleaning and overhaul.

2. Separate output shaft from ring gear.
3. Remove snap ring retaining output shaft hub then slide hub off rear of shaft.
4. Remove three output shaft seal rings and output shaft 0-ring.
5. Remove two direct clutch seal rings from output shaft. Note direction of scarf cut seals.

INSTALLATION
1. Reverse procedure to assemble install intermediate clutch pack, intermediate one-way clutch, reverse clutch, and forward clutch as an assembly.
