Wiper Motor Linkage: Service and Repair

1. Turn windshield wiper motor ON. When windshield wiper blades are to full travel on windshield glass, turn key to OFF position.
2. Remove windshield wiper pivot arm and windshield wiper blade from windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft.
3. Raise hood and disconnect battery ground cable.
4. Remove cowl vent screen, then clip retaining windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft to windshield wiper motor link.
5. Disconnect linkage drive arm from windshield wiper motor.
6. Remove mounting arm and pivot shaft screws, then guide mounting arm and pivot shafts from righthand side of cowl chamber.
7. Reverse procedure to install, noting following:
a. Ensure wiper motor is in PARK position before installing wiper pivot arm and wiper blade.

b. Set windshield wiper blade to specified dimensions.
c. Torque windshield wiper mounting arm and pivot shaft screws to 9.6-12.5 ft lb.
