Air Temperature Sensor ( Ambient / Intake ): Description and Operation

The Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor detects intake air temperature variances for input to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) where it is used to determine air density and cold enrichment fuel flow. The IAT is an integral part of the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor.
