Transmission Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor:





REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the LH front fender splash shield.
4. Position a drain pan under the main control cover.
5. Loosen the main control cover bolts.
6. Allow any transaxle fluid to drain from the main control cover.
7. Remove the main control cover bolts and cover. Discard the main control cover gasket.
8. Disconnect the Transmission Fluid Temperature (TFT) sensor electrical connector.
9. Use Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Remover/Replacer T92C-77000-AH to remove the sensor from the main control valve body.

INSTALLATION
1. Use Transmission Fluid Temperature Sensor Remover/Replacer T92C-77000-AH to install the sensor on the main control valve body.
2. Tighten the sensor to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb in).
3. Connect the sensor electrical connector.
4. Install a new gasket on the main control cover.
5. Install the main control cover. Tighten bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb in).
6. Install the LH front fender splash shield. Tighten the screws to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb in).
7. Lower the vehicle.
8. Connect the battery ground cable.
9. Fill the transaxle with fluid and check for leaks.
