Idle Speed/Throttle Actuator - Electronic: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected or reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) relearns its fuel trim. The vehicle may need to be driven 16 km (10 miles) or more to relearn the fuel trim.

2. Disconnect the fuel charging wiring from the Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.
3. Remove the two IAC valve retaining bolts.
4. Remove the IAC valve and gasket.

INSTALLATION
1. Clean IAC valve gasket mating surfaces.

NOTE: If scraping is necessary, do not damage gasket mating surfaces or drop gasket material into engine.

2. To install IAC valve, reverse Removal procedure. Tighten retaining bolts to 8-12 Nm (71-106 lb in).
