Catalyst Shield: Service and Repair

NOTE: The catalyst welded shields are to be replaced with clamp-on service shields. Removal procedures in most cases involve removing the shield attachments and shield. Installation is the reverse procedure, using new parts.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Remove dual converter Y pipe.
2. Remove LH exhaust shield retaining bolts and LH exhaust shield from dual converter Y pipe.
3. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten LH exhaust shield to dual converter Y pipe retaining bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 lb in) and 5-6 Nm (44-53 lb in).
