VEHICLE CERTIFICATION LABEL
The vehicle certification label, mounted on the LH front door lock face panel, provides the following information:
- Quick engine identification
- Engine type and size by an engine code (letter or number) which can be Found in the engine identification chart
An engine identification label is also attached to the engine. The symbol code on the identification label identifies each engine for determining parts usage; for instance, engine cubic inch displacement and model year.
Engine parts often differ within a safety certification label family. Verification of identification codes will ensure that the proper parts are obtained. These codes contain all pertinent information relating to:
- Dates
- Optional Equipment
- Revisions
EMISSION CALIBRATION NUMBER LABEL
The emission calibration number label is located on the LH side door or LH door post pillar. It identifies:
- The engine calibration number.
- Revision level.
These numbers are used to determine if parts are unique to specific engines.
Always refer to this label when:
- Replacement parts are required.
- Checking engine calibrations.
Engine Code Information Label:
ENGINE CODE INFORMATION
The engine code information label is located on the valve cover. The label contains, among other information:
- Engine calibration number
- Engine build date
- Engine plant code
- Engine code
